My Money Management Apps

Life is hard. Life is really hard when you have bills to pay, credit cards to manage, expensive gas, and adult problems when you don’t even know if you should consider yourself an adult. Trust me, I get you.

These may not be the BEST applications out there; I’m not giving you a top ten list. I’m going to share the apps I use to help make life a little easier that you can use too!

1. Your bank’s online application

I have found that PNC’s Virtual Wallet app is perfect. It allows you to do everything you can do on the online banking site. I can check balances, transfer money, deposit checks, send money, pay bills, and check account settings. Long gone are the days that you had to call the bank, give your pin, and wait for the automated voice to say your account balance.

2. Your Credit Card’s application

Hands down, Discover has the best application. My favorite feature of the Discover IT card application is that you can see your FICO credit score monthly. It also gives you the key factors that are affecting your score and how to improve. This is amazing! My second favorite feature was meant for me. Have you ever misplaced your credit card and wanted to cancel the card JUST in case it was stolen, but what if you just left it in the car? Discover knows me too well. They have a “Freeze” feature that allows you to freeze your account from your phone. If a purchase is attempted while the card is frozen you get notified. Perfect for those few hours your credit card is MIA.

3. GasBuddy

How many gas stations do you pass on your daily commute? Do you know which has the cheapest gas? You will if you download GasBuddy! This app is super helpful to pinch pennies on your gas prices. GasBuddy lets you search for Gas Prices by city, state, zip code updated in real time. It’s a free application so what do you have to lose?

4. RetailMeNot

RetailMeNot is a collection of discounts, coupons and promo codes for thousands of online stores. It is also free to download and always has deals. I use it most at Kohl’s and Michael’s.

5.Target Cartwheel

If you tell me you don’t like Target, I call BS. If you tell me you don’t spend too much at Target, please teach me your ways. Target is like a black hole of trendy and adorable everything. Every direction I look my mind says, “I want, I need, I gotta have!” So here comes Cartwheel which makes my addiction a tiny bit less expensive, It is free to download and user friendly. You add all your coupons and your barcode gets scanned at checkout. Frankly, all stores should do this. You need this app.

If you have any apps you’d like me to try, please share! Enjoy!
